Mindful Therapy: The Art of True Presence and Deep Listening
In addition to providing new insights into the work of psychotherapists and others who seek to listen deeply, an important goal of this workshop is to provide a space for healing and transformation. This workshop approaches mindfulness as not only a set of techniques, but more importantly as a way to be more deeply present. There will be an introduction to the major insights of Buddhism underlying the practice of mindfulness, and exercises to aid in experiencing these. The clinical relevance of these insights will be discussed, along with a brief review of the empirical evidence for the role of mindfulness in therapy and in the therapist.
